FLORIDA OIL SPILL ACTION ITEM – PLEASE ACT NOW!
Thankfully, Governor Crist has now called for a Special Session so that the Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate will consider allowing Floridians to vote to ban oil drilling in our state waters.
These waters are 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and 10 miles into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Special Session starts on July 20 and ends on July 23 – in other words just 10 day from now. That means that there is very little time for us to tell our elected officials that we want to be able to vote on this critical issue this coming November. We must send them a message NOW!
Tell our elected officials to:
ALLOW FLORIDIANS TO VOTE IN NOVEMBER ON NEAR-SHORE OIL DRILLING
THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE – ALL FLORIDIANS AND OUR ECONOMY ARE BEING HARMED BY OIL SPILLS
WE MUST PROTECT OUR COASTS FOR OUR ECONOMY AND OUR CHILDRENS’
